Peach Blossoms Singapore Review — Black Pearl-Rated Cantonese at Marina Bay

Peach Blossoms, on Level 5 of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, is the only restaurant in Singapore holding the Black Pearl One-Diamond rating — and it runs two completely different price points under one roof: a $5.80 dim sum lunch and a $268++ tasting menu. Most write-ups cover one or the other. This one covers both, plus how the restaurant actually stacks up against Summer Pavilion and Yan Ting.

What makes Peach Blossoms different from Singapore’s other Cantonese restaurants?

It’s the Black Pearl One-Diamond rating — Peach Blossoms is the only restaurant in Singapore that holds it. That’s not a vague marketing line; the Black Pearl guide is a genuinely selective award, and being the sole Singapore holder is a specific, checkable claim. Pair that with Executive Chef Edward Chong’s 18-plus years in the kitchen and a stated approach of technically classical Cantonese cooking dressed in modern, deliberately elegant plating, and you get a restaurant with an actual point of view rather than a generic “upscale Chinese dining” label.

Is Peach Blossoms actually worth the price?

For the tasting menu specifically — yes, if what you’re comparing it against is Singapore’s other Cantonese fine-dining names, not a hawker chicken rice stall. Here’s where it sits:

Summer Pavilion has the stronger single credential — nine straight years of a Michelin star is hard to argue with. Yan Ting’s weekend brunch is built as a one-off event, priced accordingly. What Peach Blossoms actually offers that neither of the other two does cleanly is range: you can walk in for an under-$50 dim sum lunch for two, or commit to the full $268++ menu for an anniversary. Most restaurants at this tier pick one lane; Peach Blossoms deliberately doesn’t.

How much does Peach Blossoms cost?

Two very different numbers, depending on which version of the restaurant you’re booking.

What should you order at Peach Blossoms?

Start with the deep-fried cigar roll ($28) — black truffle, foie gras and prawn wrapped in a crisp shell, and the one dish nearly every review names as the closest thing the menu has to a signature. It’s rich enough to split between two people, and the textural contrast between the crackling exterior and soft filling is what tends to stick in people’s memory more than any single dim sum plate.

If you’re after the kitchen’s more adventurous side, order the stewed mung bean noodles with drunken crab in 10-year-old Gu Yu Long Shan rice wine — it’s a less obvious choice than the cigar roll, and rewards diners who want to see what the chef does outside the safer, more photogenic dishes. On the dim sum menu specifically, the steamed crab claws ($9.80) are the most expensive item on that list and consistently the one reviewers say is worth the extra dollar or two over everything else on the page.

What do you need to know before booking?

• Location: Level 5, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay — the dining room looks out over Marina Bay and the skyline, worth requesting a window table when booking
• Two ways in: the dim sum lunch (from $5.80/item) is the low-commitment option; the $268++ tasting menu is the one to book for an occasion
• Reservations recommended, especially for the tasting menu and for window seating during the dim sum service
• Recognition: Black Pearl One-Diamond (sole Singapore holder), also listed on World’s 50 Best Discovery

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Peach Blossoms have a set lunch menu?

Yes, alongside the à la carte dim sum menu, a “Peach Blossoms Discovery Set Menu” is offered — check current pricing when booking, as set menu pricing isn’t published consistently across sources.

Is Peach Blossoms suitable for a special occasion?

Yes — the $268++ tasting menu, Marina Bay views, and the Black Pearl recognition make it a natural pick for anniversaries or celebration dinners, distinct from the more casual dim sum lunch service.

Do I need to dress up for Peach Blossoms?

Given the hotel fine-dining setting and skyline views, smart casual is the safe minimum, particularly for dinner and the tasting menu — this isn’t explicitly confirmed by the restaurant’s own dress code messaging, so it’s worth checking when you book if you want certainty.
